That's it eh. It works, and this is why so many decent people, people who ate basically good and wanting to do the right thing, ate trapped by these bastards.

Why JW assemblies NEED to change
by kneehighmiah inthe assemblies would be get better results and get more people to come and be inspired if they were more encouraging.
instead the assemblies are a giant guilt trip.
don't go to college, don't get a good job, dont buy things even if you can afford them, don't play violent games, don't flirt.

Men always look more attractive post watchtower life. Must be the contentment and confidence.

Being an Atheist Is Bad For Your Health
by Space Madness ini stopped believing in god in july 2013. in the first 3 months or so i felt liberated and relieved that i can live my life anyway i wanted without worrying about an invisible being watching my every move.
i also felt slightly superior that i was able to figure out that god isn't real while the majority of mankind continued to be fooled.
atfer the feelings of excitment statrted to wear off, i started to become more depressed and empty.

I know where you're coming from. I miss 'god' because it was nice to have a crutch in life. Now it's just me...

"Deep down inside even they know it is BS." Discuss
by rory-ks innope, bungi bill's interesting statement from this post didn't take, so i'll start its own.. from my own experience, i hated the field ministry.
it might just be because of the kind of character i am, whatever, i never was able to overcome that feeling of dread every time i went door-to-door.
i felt aware of how much people disliked having strangers cold-calling trying to sell them something.

Problems of Dating the Watchtower Way
by enigma1863 ini wanted to know what problems you have learned about dating in the "truth" acording to there policy.
i feel like you dont really know someone until you live with them.
also some put on a false personality until they get what they want i.e.

My husband and I spent a lot of time together before we were married. I lived by myself so he would come to mine straight after work, have a nap on my bed, we'd cook dinner together then watch movies. No sex:we were disciplined. Of course being alone like that was a big jw no no. But we were 30 and 40 respectively, both converts. The whole chaperone thing was hugely insulting to us, and we were so glad to be able to spend time alone because you can't discuss sensitive relationship issues or even just interact like a homebody couple with someone else there. We got back roomed twice over it as someone ratted us out and I kicked up a big stink. But, with one month left til our wedding we just decided to meet in public rather than fight it.
We did however, be alone together the day before the wedding: how else can you run around and do all those last minute things? I'm grateful that we spent time alone as a couple before our wedding, just doing daily house things like cooking and cleaning together. And one day he came and spent an entire day in my house because I was violently ill. Good thing I wasn't sick at night or we'd have been dfd.

Did we get RTD's ("Religiously Transmitted Diseases") from the Watchtower?
by Fernando inhaving just started to read the book "pharisectomy" i decided to google the book's concept of "religiously transmitted diseases".. there were more than 44,000 hits for this phrase.. looking back i can see several spiritual and psychological illnesses, or rtd's, that i contracted from the watchtower organisation.. having rejected this organisation mid-2009 as just another "snare and a racket", i have found considerable healing.. i feel i have become much, much less judgmental, bigoted, supremacist, elitist, dogmatic, territorial, ignorant, legalistic, moralistic, ethnocentric, materialistic and closed-minded.. i feel i am more liberal, compassionate and connected with others regardless of differences.. i am not troubled if we do not share the same beliefs, nationality, race, social status or sexual orientation.. the only people i really struggle with, are the very, very small handful i know of who are genuinely and rabidly pharisaical, evil, toxic, destructive or combative.. what are your views and experience?.

Does this count as Nazi collaboration?
by Julia Orwell ina jw friend of mine visited the site of auschwitz-berkenau and bought a book on jws in auschwitz which documents which jws were in the camp, which ones died, and what they did while they were there.
known as honest and industrious workers, a lot of them, especially women, were employed as domestic help in the homes of the ss commanders.
this is well documented.

Snap! In their own words. Just like the jw men who could'my do alternative service to military conscription for all those years.
Re the Soviets, I was referring to civilians picked up by the NKVD/mgb/kgb for any of the zoodles of reasons a Soviet citizen could be sent to gulag, especially religious groups. It's absolutely awful how Stalin treated his soldiers too, and deplorable on the part of the English and Americans who forcibly repatriated them, full knowing what was going to happen to them. It was all politically motivated, like so much else.

Best to just pretend nothing is out of the ordinary. Smile n wave or they think you're running because of a guilty conscience rather than you just not wanting anything to do with the dirty cult. Smile n wave n look happy because it blows their little minds.

Tainted Love: Your JW wedding
by Julia Orwell inmine was actually great because my non-jw parents decided to pay for the reception, limo, cake, dress, honeymoon, and more.
i can thank my non-jw parents for what a totally fun day it was.. but, half or more of the guests were jws, jws who don't speak to me anymore.
some have even slandered and abused me.

I've been to some really fun JW weddings with live bands and that. I also went to one where I was snubbed by everyone. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. I'm just glad mine was mega fun.
